Rolls-Royce ‘Taxi’ Silver Ghost 1911 model

This well-travelled 1911 Silver Ghost paid a visit to Goodwood recently. The car was initially delivered to Sir Samuel Gibson, of Melbourne, Australia, managing a jaunt back to the UK before the First World War. The car was kept by Sir Samuel’s widow until 1930, after which it apparently had a varied career – incongruously being used to deliver post and as a taxi. Since being restored in 1993 it has covered some 30,000 miles touring around the world.
